DescriptionThe safety is at the very heart of the railway infrastructure trade. It is a key issue which ensures the network quality and in rail traffic fluidity. Throughout France, 32 000 employees maintain and implement new works on the SNCF rail network. They are assigned to monitor, maintain and modernize the rail infrastructures: tracks, structures (bridges, tunnels…), electrical and mechanical signalling, telecommunication and electric power supply equipment.


After a year of safety standards training specific to the maintenance of fixed railway equipment, you are given responsibility of a geographical area. Supported by your past work experience and your technical skills, you ensure compliance to safety and quality standards.

As Manager, you plan the workload and schedule of your teams (20-25 employees) while
safeguarding the safety of your staff. You are an active listener and a team player. You consider and understand your team’s expectations. You encourage skills development among your staff. You anticipate resources needed within your activity in collaboration with your teams.

With regard to your production responsibilities, you coordinate production and maintenance works (tracks, structures, points) in accordance with allocated budgets and safety regulations. You report on the progression of your objectives. You may also have to manage entire production or maintenance projects (modernization of the tracks, replacement of structures, etc.)


Master’s degree in engineering or specialized in civil engineering and a first work experience or management training.


Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of work experience in the sector.

Management aptitudes (worksite, field, operational), leadership and sense of responsibilities.

Interest for fieldwork, enjoy working among your team.

Analytical ability, as well as good capacity to summarize and to bring forward proposals.

Excellent spoken and written French, as well as working knowledge of English.

Career development may require geographical relocation, within and outside France.
